Wine For A Living - An Event Planners Dream Job

If you are an event planner and are also a wine enthusiast, you may have stumbled onto something that will change your career trajectory - or at the very least plant a seed that will germinate in your thoughts for the time being. My hope is that you take action today, because the sooner you start, the sooner you will reap the benefits.

Event planning takes a lot of organization, coordination, preparing, forethought and creativity. I know, because I've coordinated events from small 15 person seminars to 500 attendee summits. We're not talking stadium-sized events, but it still takes the skills that I named previously.

Ultimately, you're bringing people together.

Wine tastings also bring people together.

In my opinion, wine is social. Bottles of wine are meant to be shared, either in an informal, intimate gathering or at a special event (receptions, anniversaries, birthdays, etc.). What is required to coordinate a wine tasting is the same as what is required to coordinate an event.

  • Find a host (venue)

  • Choose the menu (catering)

  • Invite attendees (marketing)

  • Print the documents (presentation)

  • Greet the participants (registration)

  • Pour the wine (hospitality)

  • Answer questions (concierge)

  • Contact attendees after the tasting (follow up)

Why am I suggesting that you become a Wine Ambassador?

First, you love wine. Second, you already have the skills it takes to market wine. Third, you can earn a commission on the sales AND get a discount on your own wine purchases! You could, in essence, pay for your wine with your commissions in addition to some bills depending on how many tastings you have and/or how many people sign up for your wine club!

Last, but not least, you can add value to your clients by offering personalized wine and etched bottles!

You're joining a team that never stops imagining, that celebrates meaningful experiences.

You will learn from the top Sommeliers and tasting room experts, everything from hospitality basics to tasting techniques. Learn to mentor and lead a team - how much you want to learn is up to you!

Where can you market wine?

As of this writing, the only states that are not allowed to accept shipments of wine from other states are:

  1. Arkansas

  2. Connecticut

  3. Delaware

  4. Kentucky

  5. Mississippi

  6. New Jersey

  7. Ohio

  8. Rhode Island

  9. Utah

What are the benefits?

Earn fabulous trips to France, experiencing the Burgundy wine country first hand. Attend exclusive Ambassador events with celebrity winemakers at the Raymond Crystal Cellar, the Buena Vista Press House and the Barrel Cellar of DeLoach to name a few.

Indulge in the luxury of flexible hours. You can do this on your own time, whenever, wherever you want to. You can even conduct virtual tastings - there is no territory.

Earn generous commissions and bonuses unrivaled in the wine world.

Enjoy a 20% discounts on your favorite wines from the portfolio of wineries.
